This is a 1 year maternity cover role with the potential of an extension

What You Will Be Doing:

Our Health Professionals are responsible for supporting Participants on our employability programmes to improve their health and wellbeing, so that they can move into, or closer, to the right job. Through our unique combination of employment and health support, you will help Participants to manage their health conditions, grow in confidence and improve their wellbeing.

 You will:

  • Conduct health assessments to identify an individually tailored package of support for Participants who have physical or mental health needs
  • Deliver health and wellbeing support on a one-to-one and small group basis
  • Develop partnerships with local health services
  • Signpost Participants to appropriate external support
  • Liaise with other parties supporting the Participant to ensure integrated support

Skills & Experience

Full accredited registration with one of the following organisations (or equivalent):

  • Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP),
  • Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)
  • Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
  • Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT)
  • British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)
  • British Psychological Society (BPS)

Other equivalent regulated and accredited professional bodies may be considered, dependent on the level of experience.

  • A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma.
  • GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification). OR achievement of a Level 2 in Literacy Assessment at interview stage.
  • Enjoys facilitating groups and working with individuals on a 121 basis
  • Autonomous practitioner with excellent personal organisational skills for caseload management.
  • Experience of working in a commercial target driven environment.
  • Experience of mindfulness and principals of behaviour change

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of applying the principals of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Brief Solution Focused Therapy
  • Knowledge and application of principles of clinical governance and risk management
  • Technical skills including; the ability to use technology to deliver results and knowledge of welfare/benefits system.
  • Personal interests in career and self-development.
  • Personal circumstances regarding willingness to work flexible hours (e.g. to make in-work support calls outside of normal working hours)
