What You Will Be Doing?

The Business Process Analyst will be responsible for interpreting provider guidance, legislative, funding & contractual requirements and developing fit for purpose processes, guidance and appropriate communications to the business.

You will design and incorporate appropriate guidance and procedural documentation, reference material, processes and resource that is suitable for a portfolio of contracts and designed for specific audiences which will inform and communicate the requirements that need to be met to deliver each contract and service. Guidance and resource needs to be standard, consistent and of quality that can be easily understood and embedded. Aligned with this, clear and simple process maps will be designed that ensures this information is conveyed clearly and effectively.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret contractual and funding requirements for each contract.
  • Understand the legislative requirements and any associated obligations.
  • Design guidance and procedural documentation that is fit for purpose, consistent and standard.
  • Design process maps to underpin all guidance and procedural documentation.
  • Use MI to identify weaknesses and strengths in understanding, adopting and embedding continuous improvements, reviews and sharing best practice where appropriate.
  • Support training requirements so that content is appropriate and consistent.
  • Support in the design of training to ensure guidance and processes are communicated in a clear and easily understood way
  • Have a clear on boarding and implementation strategy that ensures new contracts have appropriate resource & guidance designed as part of the implementation phase.
  • Identify areas of business improvement need, by analysing statistical data around compliance, audit and risk.


Essential / Desirable Criteria:

  • Exposure and understanding of contractual requirements within provision/services commissioned by government bodies.
  • Ability to interrogate guidance and interpret contractual requirements.
  • Experience of the design of detailed guidance and procedural documentation.
  • Ability to design processes which offer a quick reference view of guidance documentation.
  • Demonstrable experience of management of multiple (in tandem) projects.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Visio and Office Packages
  • Ability to exercise critical but balanced judgments in identifying problems and to present effective practical and potential original solutions.
  • A willingness to work away from office base as required (this can mean overnight stay)
  • A minimum of 2 A-Levels (or equivalent Level 3 qualification).

Desirable Attainments:

  • Exposure and understanding of contractual requirements of at least DWP or ESFA provision.
  • First degree qualification (or equivalent) obtained in a literate and analytical discipline.
  • Experience of IT systems design and implementation.
  • Exposure to compliance, audit, or quality functions with high profile government contracts.
