This is a 9 month Fixed Term contract


What Will You Be doing?

As our Business Manager you will lead a team of IAG Advisers in Custody, in the provision of services to support caseloads of careers, training and educational advice to Prisoners. You will be responsible for managing the performance, productivity and wellbeing of this team and supports the team through observation, coaching and development to exceed their targets.

 

Your daily responsibilities would include:

  • Leading and motivating a team of advisers and trainers
  •  Performance management, identifying skills gaps, mentoring and coaching staff 
  •  Managing Profit and Loss reports and monthly financial forecasting Completing set reports for the commissioner as  necessary, both ad hoc and on a regular basis as defined by fund holder account management
  • Development and monitoring continuous improvement plans in line with the published continuous improvement planning cycle

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in sales management and delivery output
  • Track record of working and achieving targets (at least 1 year experience)
  • Experience of people management including supporting, mentoring and coaching and developing an individual.
  • Educational attainment of either a degree or equivalent or alternatively A-Level or equivalent attainment plus at least 2 years of high quality line management experience in a target orientated business environment
  • A minimum of 2 A-Levels or an equivalent Level 3 Diploma
  • GCSE English Language at a minimum of a Grade B (or equivalent Level 2 qualification). OR achievement of a Level 2 in Literacy Assessment at interview stage. 

 

Desirable Skills & Experience: 

  • Experience of working in the prisons, welfare to work or employability sectors
  • Experience of managing a business to business sales process.
  • Knowledge of welfare/benefits system.
  • Degree or relevant qualification. Degree topics may include; psychology, sociology, social care/science. Relevant qualifications would include Information Advice and Guidance NVQs, Brokerage Standard, Social Work qualifications or qualifications relating to welfare to work.
