WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

You will lead on the implementation, development and integration of a compliance function across the business’ portfolio of government and public-sector contracts. Leading a team of compliance specialists, you will develop and implement fit for purpose processes, design appropriate resource and incorporate a training function across the business to ensure that contractual requirements are interpreted, understood and communicated effectively. The role will also be responsible for managing and facilitating external Contract Monitoring visits and developing this function in line with business and commissioner requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

• Designing a Compliance Framework that supports the business in ensuring performance is delivered and that requirements to achieve this are understood. • Responsible for working with senior management within the business in the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive control structures for new contract delivery, including the production of detailed process documentation. • Embedding a target and quality driven team that works seamlessly with operational colleagues with an aim of generating performance. • Assisting with and deputising for the Senior Compliance and Audit Manager with the recruitment, development and retention of high performing and quality driven teams. This will include motivating, coaching and performance managing others within this team. • Have a clear and consistent performance management regime in place so that team performance can be monitored and showcased across both hard and soft KPIs.

Professional Experience:

Essential Criteria: • Exposure and understanding of contractual requirements within provision/services commissioned by government bodies. • Experience of the development and improvement of Internal Audit or Compliance Strategy and associated support frameworks. • Experience of contributing to the design and training of process and contractual requirements through the interrogation of contractual guidance and operational working methods. • Experience of providing a high-quality advisory and guidance service to internal customers. • Demonstrable line management experience. • Demonstrable experience of management of multiple (in tandem) projects. • Practical experience of database management and the processing of complex information. Desirable Attainments: • Exposure and understanding of contractual requirements of at least DWP or ESFA provision. • First degree qualification (or equivalent) obtained in a literate and analytical discipline. • Experience of IT systems design and implementation. • Exposure to compliance, audit, or quality functions with high profile Government contracts.
